I am currently organising a trip to CERN for my Year 13 Physics students, and when I first started thinking about doing this, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Where was I even supposed to begin?? There are so many things to consider when attempting to organise a school trip of this magnitude and unfortunately not a large amount of information on the internet about how to really go about it.

So as I jump through the various hurdles required for such a trip, I am going to write about them, so if the trip goes well and I want to plan it again I can learn from this experience. I also want to do this so that other teachers who might also be thinking about planning their first ‘big’ trip can use this as a basic guide on what to do (or not do).
